Authorization Release at Check-Out

Authorization Release at Check-Out

During the check-out process, when we release an authorization, our system transmits a transaction with a $0.00 amount to supersede the initial authorization. It's important to note that we do not execute a traditional "void" operation on the authorization. Instead, the approach involves sending a transaction with a zero-dollar amount, which effectively replaces the original authorization.

In credit card transactions, you may observe that the "Sent Amount" reflects as $0.00 in our system. This practice aligns with standard procedures for releasing authorizations, ensuring a smooth and accurate handling of credit card transactions during the check-out phase.

When reviewing credit card details, focus on two primary columns related to authorization:
- Auth amount: Indicates the required or current amount of authorization.
- SentAmount: Reflects the new amount of authorization being transmitted to the credit card processor.
