What is the STR Report?
STR is more than just a report title; it stands for a company that specializes in aiding hotels with strategic positioning and competition within their markets. The STR report serves as a crucial revenue management benchmark tool, allowing hotels to evaluate their performance against a group of similar establishments.
How does it work with Visual Matrix?
Visual Matrix is not directly integrated with STR, and it does not transmit data directly to STR. For Best Western properties, Visual Matrix sends crucial revenue data necessary for the STR report to Best Western through the two-way interface. This data usually includes details such as occupancy, average daily rate (ADR), and revenue per available room (RevPAR). Best Western subsequently shares this data with STR for benchmarking and analysis purposes.
Should it be checked/enabled?
Initially, the feature was limited to North American and Canadian properties. However, it was later expanded to include our Italian properties. To activate this feature, hotels need to check the STR box within the Best Western 2Way interface, specifically in the Communication section. Enabling this checkbox allows properties to engage in benchmarking and share revenue data with STR.

STR reports for Best Western properties are facilitated through a JSON URL within the interface. This feature is only activated if explicitly enabled by the hotel. The connection utilizes the .NET framework to support this functionality.
