Keeping room status accurate helps housekeeping and front desk teams stay aligned on which rooms are ready, in progress, or need attention. Updating room status in Visual Matrix Cloud ensures the system reflects the room’s current condition so assignments, reporting, and availability decisions are based on reliable information. This article explains how to update a room’s status from the housekeeping side.

Room Status Color Reference
Green indicates a room is clean and inspected. | Yellow indicates a room is clean but still needs inspection. | Red indicates a room is dirty and needs to be cleaned.
Use this option when you need to change the status of one room at a time.
1. Select a Room Attendant, or leave All selected.
2. Double-click a room number to update its cleaning status. This method updates the room’s cleaning status directly, without requiring any additional selection.
Each double-click advances the room to the next status in the cycle: On Change (Dirty) → Clean → Clean & Inspected → On Change (Dirty)
Update All Rooms at Once
Use this option when you need to update room cleaning statuses in bulk for the rooms currently displayed.
1. Select the Room Attendant, or leave All selected.
2. Click one of the following status options:
- Clean: Updates only rooms that are currently On Change (Dirty) to Clean.
- Clean & Inspected: Updates all rooms in the current view to Clean & Inspected.
The selected status is applied immediately. No save action is required.
2. In the confirmation popup, click Yes to apply the change.
If the Room Status page is empty, verify that rooms have been assigned for cleaning on the Room Assign > Room Assignment page. Rooms that are not assigned for cleaning do not appear for status updates.
