Create a Peak Date (Desktop)

Visual Matrix has multiple options to change rates (auto tiering, manual tiering, peak dates and RMS) that can be used alone or simultaneously. In case of multiple options used, Visual Matrix uses a built-in hierarchy system to determine what rate to use. Number 3 in the hierarchy of rates, a peak date is used when you need to set up a specific rate for one specific day, without altering any other day or changing the whole season setup.
The different rate options are:

4. 3rd Party RMS (Best Rev): create a new peak dates. Will override existing peak dates.
3. Peak Dates: will override auto and manual tiering/enhanced.
2. Manual Tiering & Manual Enhanced: will override Auto Tier levels
1. Auto Tiering: overrides Base rates.

Path: Management > Setup > Rates > Peak Dates

Step 1 starts from the section on the top left "Peak Dates".
1. Use the empty line to create the new peak date.

2. Select a date and enter a description (reason).

Step 2 continues in the top-right area labeled "Room Types." The "Status" field indicates which rate is currently applied:
- "N/A" means that no tier rates have been set up.
- "System" indicates that the rate is derived from either automatic or manual tiering.

3. Select the room type to apply a peak date and enter the rate in the "Rate" field.

4. If the rate is based on a specific number of guests, enter the expected number of people in the "Guest" field, and input any additional charge for extra guests in the "Addl Amt" field.

5. If applicable, set up a specific discount code for this room type and this peak date. For example, a discount code of 10% can be setup at a different percentage for this specific date. Instead of creating another discount code to apply, the discount code can be modified.
Check the box in front of the discount code you wish to change for that date and that room type and enter the new rate for that code for this date: percentage or flat discount or a new Fixed rate (end of the line) if the discount code is an excp/fixed discount code.

6. Repeat step 5 to apply peak discounts to other room types.
