Definition of the Different Availability Statuses (Open, Close, Hard, Soft, MLOS, CTA)
There are 6 different statuses.
Open
The field is empty if the status is open. Your inventory is open to all reservations.
Hard
Your inventory is closed for that date for all rooms or for the room types that were selected to be closed. This status is one that has to be manually entered. Visual Matrix does not auto Hard close.
Soft
Also known as Soft MLOS or Flexible MLOS.
A reservation needs to have a certain number of nights if the date is part of the reservation.
For example, you put a Soft-close for 4 nights on 01/05. Any reservation going through 01/05 will have to have 4 nights. Whether it is 01/04 to 01/08 (4 nights) or 01/02 to 01/06 (4 nights) or 01/05 to 01/09 (4 nights).
MLOS
MLOS stand for "Minimum Lenght Of Stay". Any reservation arriving on that date is required to have the minimum number of nights set up for that date on their reservation.
Close
This is an automatic status from Visual Matrix if you are sold out of a room type. The status will disappear if the room type becomes available again. This status will only show per room type and not on the overall. If the status is manually overridden, it will not be updated by Visual Matrix anymore.
CTA
CTA stands for "Close To Arrivals". Your hotel is closed to any arrivals. It does not prevent reservations from being extended or someone from booking the day prior and including this date in their stay. This is not linked to your available inventory, but to a decision to close to arrivals maybe to privilege longer stays.
