The Group Modification Log provides an audit trail for changes made to a group reservation—who made the change, when, and what old/new values were involved. Use it to track edits, resolve discrepancies, and maintain accountability across front office staff (Some system-triggered changes derived from another modification may not appear—see the “limitations” section below).
Path: Front Office > Group > Search > Open the Group > Mod Detail (toolbox on the right side)
Instructions
1. With the group reservation open, click Mod Detail in the right-side toolbox or icon panel.
2. The Modification Log will load, showing each change recorded:
- Date & Time: when the edit occurred
- User: Who made the change
- Action/Field: what was changed
- Old Value → New Value: before and after values. If a new record was created, the Old Value column will be blank.
Scroll through the log to view changes in chronological order. Use the column headers to sort/filter if supported (e.g. by date or user).
Changes triggered by other modifications may not generate separate log entries. For example, if a room type change triggers a rate change, only the room type change will appear.
Still Need Help With This Topic?
Ask Yourself:
- Did I open the correct group before accessing Mod Detail?
- Do the log entries match the changes I made recently?
- Am I expecting to see changes initiated by system triggers (which may not appear)?
- Is the Old → New value display correct, or is there a blank (creation) entry?
Support May Ask You:
- What Group ID, date/time range, or specific field are you investigating?
- Can you share a screenshot of the Modification Log panel?
- Which user(s) do you believe made the change(s)?
- Are there any linked reservations or chained changes (room type → rate) in view?
