But surprisingly, it does really help!

Why is it important to restart the computer?
From Security Professionals to IT experts, everyone agrees on the importance of restarting (aka rebooting) your computer and keeping it up to date.
Some will advise a restart every week, some every day. This can be a task done by the Night Audit.

- Flushes the memory: A lot of processes that your computer may have needed during the day could still be running in the background;
- Halts Memory Leaks: A program that may not have closed correctly but does not show as still open;

How do you know for how long the computer has been up?
1- Do a right-click in the taskbar, and click on Task Manager.
2- Once open, click on Performance, second tab.
3- At the bottom, you will see the up-time.
In this example, the computer has been up for more than 7 days... it is time for a reboot!

How to Find and Run Windows Updates
Go to the Start Menu and type Updates on your keyboard. If you have the Search bar next to the Start menu, you can type directly in it;
In the Best Match, you will have Check for Updates. Click on it.
Whether you have a message with updates requires or not, make sure you click on Check for Updates.
It will make sure that you have all updates available to download and install.
Restart your computer when you can and check again that no new updates are available.
For our Desktop Users, if you are updating the Main Server, remember that restarting the computer will shut down Visual Matrix on any other client computer you are logged into.
Sometimes, updates are already installed, and restarting is the last step that needs to be completed.
One way to see that is to look into the taskbar.
If you see the screen icon with an orange or red dot, your computer needs a restart.
If you move the restart too much, Windows may push the restart and do it when you less expect it...
