Post Room and Tax on an Individual Folio (Desktop) 🎥
Room and Tax is automatically posted during the night audit. Although you have the possibility to manually post (A) this daily charge, you can also add some Room and Tax charges (B) that will not be counted as the daily charge but in addition.
Path: Front Office > Cashiering > Guest Account > In-House Guests > Open a Folio
Automatic Posting
1. Click on Post RM & Tax from the left menu.
2. Select Yes on the pop up window to confirm your choice.
3. After you select Yes the night's charge will post at the room charge and any associated tax based on the reservation information. If the reservation is tax-exempt, tax will not post.
The Post Room and Tax button feature will only post the upcoming night's room charge to the folio. As such it will only post one night's charge per day to the folio it is used within.
It can not be used to post multiple night's in advance of the audit.
Manual Posting
1. Move down to the Detail Posting and find the Room Charge code (RC).
2. Enter the amount to charge. As the post is manual, it will not prompt the amount set up in the reservation.
3. Click Save.
4- The room charge will post at the entered amount room charge and any associated tax. If the reservation is tax-exempt, tax will not post.
Post manually Room and Tax button will not count as the daily room charge. As such, the night audit will post the daily charge in addition of what was manually posted.
Also, the manual post will not include any fixed fee or extra. It will be limited to the room charge itself.
