Reset User Password (MOP 2.0)

Reset User Password (MOP 2.0)

If a user forgets their password or cannot access MOP, the password can be reset in two ways:
  1. Using a verification code sent to the user’s phone number (if configured), or
  2. Assigning a temporary password in the user profile, which forces a reset at next login.
This article explains how to reset a password using a temporary password assigned by management.

Method: Reset Using a Temporary Password

This method requires a Site Admin or authorized manager to update the user’s profile.

Manager Assigns a Temporary Password

A manager must go to: Administration > Identity Management > Users
  1. Select the user.
  2. Enter a temporary password in the password field.
  3. Click Save.
Alert
The temporary password remains active only until it is used to log in.

Log In with the Temporary Password

  1. Go to the MOP login page.
  2. Enter:
    1. Username
    2. Temporary password provided by the manager
  3. Click Sign In.
    1. The system will automatically redirect the user to the password reset page.

Confirm Temporary Password

  1. Enter the temporary password again when prompted. This verifies identity before allowing a new password to be created.

Create a New Password

  1. Enter a new password.
  2. Confirm the new password.

Complete the Reset

  1. Click Continue.
  2. The password reset is now complete.
  3. The user can log in normally using the new password.

Alternative Method: Reset via Phone Verification

If the user’s phone number is correctly configured in their profile:
  1. They may choose the password reset option on the login page.
  2. A verification code will be sent to their phone.
  3. After verification, they can create a new password.

If the phone number is missing or incorrect, this method will not work.
