Room Rate vs Actual Rate vs Override Rate
In a reservation, three rates will show up: the Room Rate, the Actual Rate and the Override Rate. What is the difference?
1. The Room Rate is the rack rate that was at the moment of the reservation.
2. The Actual Rate is the discount code minus the room rate. If no discount code is used, it would reflect the same as the Room Rate.
3. The Override Rate is the rate that was manually override.
A rate change will only show in the mod log if it was manually override. If the rate changes because of a trigger (discount code, room type, ...), the original modification will show in the mod log but not the rate change.
To see the original rate, you can check the Res Mod Log Report in Front Office > Supervisor > Reports. If you are a Best Western, you can also check the mod log in the reservation in Member Web.
If a discount code is applied once the rack rate as changed, the discount code will apply on the current rack rate and not on the rack rate the guest has booked on initially.
