Start a Cleaning Task (MOP)


Before a cleaning task can be completed, it must first be marked as Started in MOP. Starting a task allows the system to:
  1. Track task progress
  2. Record the start time
  3. Identify who is actively working on the task
  4. Allow employees to add notes or images during the cleaning process

Start a Cleaning Task

1. Open the Task - Click the eye icon on the left side of the task to open the task details.


2.  Add Notes and/or Images (Optional) - If needed, add notes or upload images before starting the task. To upload an image:
  1. Click the "+" icon
  2. Select an image from your phone or computer - Examples of useful updates include:
    1. Existing room damage
    2. Guest requests
    3. Maintenance concerns
    4. Cleaning notes for supervisors


3. Start the Task - Click Start to begin the cleaning task. Once started:
  1. The task status updates to Started
  2. The system records the employee and start time
  3. The task moves into active progress tracking

Why Starting the Task Matters

Starting tasks properly helps properties:

  • Track employee productivity
  • Monitor room progress in real time
  • Improve communication between departments
  • Maintain accurate housekeeping records
Notes
  • A task must be started before it can be finished
  • Notes and images can be added before or during the task
  • Starting the task updates its status immediately
  • Supervisors may use task status for room tracking and inspections
