What does it Means to Rebuild the Reports?

If you notice any concerns in your reports, such as inconsistent or mismatched numbers, the Client Experience team's initial approach will involve researching and comprehending the situation. Frequently, the inquiries revolve around missing knowledge concerning the reports, their functionality, and potential interactions with each other.
In certain cases, it might be necessary to reconstruct the report. This entails initiating a process in which Visual Matrix will revisit all the numbers in the system, recalculating the reports and rebuilding them.

There are three types of rebuild options available:
- Rebuild Ledger Balances Only: This option focuses solely on rebuilding the Ledger Balances from the Daily Report. The process typically takes a couple of minutes, though it may extend significantly if there is a substantial amount of data that requires rebuilding.
- Rebuild Statistic Totals Only: With this choice, ALL the statistics in Visual Matrix are rebuilt. The duration for this rebuild can vary from several minutes to an hour or more, depending on the data volume.
- Rebuild Totals & Stats: This option involves rebuilding ALL the numbers in Visual Matrix. The rebuilding process can span several hours, and in certain cases, the exact duration might be uncertain.

As mentioned earlier, the duration of a rebuild can range from a few minutes to several hours. Notably, the Desktop version of the rebuild consistently requires more time compared to the Cloud version.
During a rebuild, it is crucial for all users to log out until the process is complete, particularly with the Desktop version. Failure to do so may significantly slow down the process and extend the overall duration.
Once a rebuild is initiated, it cannot be halted and must be allowed to finish entirely.
Rebuilds always commence from the first day of a month.
It is essential to note that a rebuild is a final process, and once completed, it cannot be undone or reversed.
Rebuilding a previous year is not possible due to changes in the accounting periods. Since the accounting periods have been altered, attempting to rebuild a past year would lead to inaccuracies and inconsistencies in the financial data, making it an unfeasible process.
When using the desktop version, we will conduct thorough testing of the rebuild on our end to ensure the expected success. However, it is important to acknowledge that the time taken for the rebuild on your system can only be provided as a rough estimate. The duration of the rebuild will be influenced by the processing power and capabilities of your server.
