You received new Pin Pads from Shift4 and need to update them with Visual Matrix


If you are processing credit cards through the Transaction Link pinpads interface in Visual Matrix, and Shift4 has sent you new pin pads, it is very important that you get in contact with Shift4 to schedule an appointment with us before anything is done.

Transaction Link pinpads require a device called the Transaction Link device. Shift4 pinpads require a program service called UTG that is installed on one of your computers. Starting the switching process without Visual Matrix knowledge will resume for the hotel to be out of pinpads until we can process the switch in Visual Matrix.
It might look the same thing as you are still dealing with Shift4, however, on Visual Matrix side, it is still considered as a Credit Card Processor Change. There are no PO nor fees, but the process will go through charging any in-house guests that have authorizations and releasing any other pending authorization and then settling the batch. Then we will be able to switch the gateway from Transaction Link to Shift4.
