FAQ - SynXis

What is the Enhanced SynXis Two-Way?
The Enhanced SynXis Two-Way is an HTNG-based connection that enables real-time, two-way communication between Visual Matrix PMS and SynXis CRS. It sends reservations, rates, inventory, and restrictions from Visual Matrix, and delivers new, modified, or cancelled reservations from SynXis instantly. Unlike the standard OTA connection, it confirms whether updates were successfully applied and handles changes more quickly and reliably. Note: This feature is included for some properties as part of their SynXis package, but others must purchase it separately.
Is the Enhanced Two-Way feature enabled for all properties using SynXis?
The Enhanced Two-Way feature in SynXis isn’t automatically available for every property. Some hotel groups have it included, but others need to purchase it separately. To confirm if your property has this feature, check with your SynXis representative or review your contract.
What does error code 450 mean, and how can I modify the rate code?
Error code 450 means that the rate code cannot be modified in the PMS, but only in SynXis. To update or modify the rate plan from the PMS, the "Manage in CRS Only" flag must be unchecked in SynXis. Additionally, ensure that the rate plan is enabled for "Update Rate" in the PMS Channel Manager mapping table. You may want to contact your Revenue Manager for assistance.
What is Group Sync?
Group Sync allows your PMS to communicate group blocks and reservations directly to SynXis. When enabled, it ensures your group allocations, rates, and bookings are accurately reflected in the Channel Manager without needing to manage them manually in both systems.

How do I enable Group Sync in SynXis?
Group Sync is not enabled by default. If you would like to use this feature, go to Management > Interfaces > All Interfaces > SynXis > Sync Groups with SynXis.

What happens after Group Sync is enabled?
After Group Sync is activated:
- Visual Matrix can send all of your existing group blocks to SynXis using a bulk sync.
- From there, any updates you make to group allocations or reservations can also be sent directly to SynXis.
This helps keep both systems aligned, especially when working with OTA allotments for groups.
How can I tell if a group synced successfully?
ou won’t see sync tools directly in your interface, but Support can confirm this for you. They can check the system logs to verify if the group block or reservation was successfully sent to SynXis, or if any errors occurred (e.g., room type mismatch, missing pricing).

What should I do if a group doesn’t show up in SynXis?
If your group or its reservations aren’t visible in SynXis:
- Double-check that the group exists in Visual Matrix and includes valid dates, rates, and room types.
- Contact Visual Matrix Support with the Group ID and a brief description of what’s missing.
Support can then review the logs and re-sync the group if needed.
I changed the group’s arrival date, but allocations still show in the Channel Manager. Why?
Shortening a stay only updates dates in SynXis, not allocations. You must manually set allocations to 0 for the removed dates before changing the stay.
What happens if I cancel a group without updating allocations?
Allocations will remain in place and continue to block rooms in SynXis. Always set allocations to 0 before canceling or shortening a group.
What is the Save button at the top right of the Group Reservation used for?
If your property uses SynXis HTNG with the Sync Groups option enabled, the Save button is required to confirm every change you make in a Group Reservation. This applies to all modifications — whether updating the block, guest details, address, or other settings. Clicking Save not only secures the changes in Visual Matrix but also triggers the sync with SynXis. If you don’t save, a pop-up reminder will appear, and any unsaved changes will be lost.
