When setting up a group, every field holds significance, including the allocation drop type/date. Allocation drop implies that on the specified setup date, any unclaimed allocations will be dropped and returned to the general inventory.
Path: Front Office > Group > Middle Column
There are 2 types of drop:
- Standard: all non-picked up allocation will drop at the selected date.
- Rolling: non-picked up rooms will start to drop day by day at the selected date. If the group is in house for 5 days, allocation left on the first date (arrival date) will drop at that setup date, but allocation left for the other days will remain. The next day will drop non-picked up allocation left on the second day of the group stay, but allocation left for days 3, 4 and 5 will remain, and so on...
