Set up Gmail to be compatible with Visual Matrix (Desktop) (PMS)


If you are using a Gmail account with Visual Matrix, you need to make sure you are following those next steps. No panic, each step is explained below.
1. Respect Gmail's new password guidelines.
2. Make sure the 2-Step Verification is enabled.
3. Create an App Password.
4. Make sure that Gmail's POP and IMAP status are enabled.
5. Input your Gmail account in the property settings screen.
6. Input Gmail SMTP settings into Visual Matrix's email setup.

1- Respect Gmail's New Password Guidelines

If the Gmail account you are using has been active for a long time, your password might not adhere to Gmail's latest requirements:
- 12 characters or more.
- Any combination of letters, numbers, and symbols.
- Accents and accented characters aren't supported.

2- Make sure the 2-Step Verification is enabled

Log into your Google Account Security Page and follow Gmail instructions to set up the 2-Step verification.

3- Create an App Password

Warning
Once created, you will not have access to view this password anymore. Make sure you have it somewhere until it is saved in Visual Matrix.

4- Make sure that Gmail's POP and IMAP status are enabled

By following the steps below, you ensure Visual Matrix's email functionality will run as intended.
Log into your Gmail, go to Settings, and then click on See all settings.

5- Input your Gmail account in the property settings screen

Open Visual Matrix.
Go to Management > Setup > Property > General.
In the General Information, enter your email in the email field.
