Configure Department-Based Staff Shifts (Cloud) 🎥

Before you can build a weekly staff schedule in Visual Matrix Cloud, each department needs defined shift times. Setting up these shifts ensures your team has consistent working hours and makes weekly scheduling faster, clearer, and more accurate.
Path: Front Office > Supervisor > Staff Scheduler > Shift Setup



Instructions

In this section, you’ll create the shift definitions that each department will use when building the weekly staff schedule.

1. Select a Specific Department or keep All



2. Click Add to create a new shift.



3. Enter the shift details:
- Code: A short identifier of up to two characters.
- Department: Choose the department the shift applies to.
- Start/End: Enter the shift’s working hours.
Notes
If the shift includes a break or needs two segments, use the second Start and End fields to create a split shift.


4. When finished, click Save to store your changes.



5. To remove a shift, click the "x" icon on the far-right side of the row.
Info
A shift that has already been used in a past weekly schedule cannot be removed.
