Update a User Password Without Management Access (Cloud)

Update a User Password Without Management Access (Cloud)

This feature is not accessible in the case of a forgotten password.

Keeping your VM Cloud password current helps maintain your access without needing to involve your manager. If your password is nearing expiration, or you've forgotten it, this guide shows how to reset it quickly and securely.
Info
To keep accounts secure, Visual Matrix prompts users to reset their password every 90 days.

Instructions

To avoid lockout, you can reset your password yourself—no manager needed. Here’s how:
1. From the dashboard, click on your username at the top right.

2. Click on Reset Password.

3. Complete the fields.
4. Click on the right arrow.

Alert
If you're locked out after too many attempts, support can only reset the 30-minute timer so you can try again. Support may reset passwords for a General Manager or owner in special cases—but for all other users, they'll direct you to ask your supervisor or manager.

Still need help with this topic?

Ask Yourself:
- Am I logged in as the correct user whose password needs updating?
- Did I follow the steps to reset the password from the user profile?
- Am I receiving the reset confirmation or prompt as expected?

Support May Ask You:
- Which username or account are you updating?
- What step of the process fails—locating the user, entering a new password, or saving?
- Are you receiving any error messages during the reset?
