Configure Automatic Charge Transfers Between Guest Rooms (Cloud)


If a guest is paying for multiple rooms but not under a group reservation, you can automatically transfer charges from one room folio to another in VM Cloud. To use this feature, specific charge types (for example, room charges but not incidentals) must post to separate folios initially. This allows you to select which folio types transfer when setting up the transfer.
Path: Front Office > Reservations > Search > Open a Reservation > Guest Account

Instructions

1. Click on "Guest Account" on the right side.



2. Choose the folio you want to transfer from, then set the Posting Type to Transfer.



3. Enter the destination room number and select its folio to receive the transferred charges.

The destination room must already be checked in for the transfer to be saved and executed.


Idea
Before using charge transfers, verify that the folios involved have their charge posting configured properly—if all charges are on one folio, there’s nothing to transfer selectively.
