Logbook Overview and Usage (Cloud)

Logbook Overview and Usage (Cloud)

The Logbook widget in VM Cloud gives you a streamlined way to document and review departmental notes by day—like operational updates or handover details—right from your dashboard. It keeps internal department communication visible and organized without cluttering interdepartmental channels. The Logbook appears as one of four widgets on the left side of your VM Cloud dashboard once you log in.
Logs are organized by department and date—perfect for tracking team-specific notes or shift updates. For cross-department messages, the Internal Messaging widget is recommended.
Idea
Want to send a message to someone in another department, a team, or the whole staff? Use the Internal Messaging app.

Overview

You can add new logs only for your assigned department, which is determined in your user profile under Management > User Settings > Security.

While you can only add entries to your own department, you can view logs from all departments if needed.
To review logs by department or date:
  1. Select another department to view just their logs (1).
  2. Select ALL to see entries from all departments together (2).

Idea
Use the Logbook each shift to note your department’s status or handover details—this helps teammates stay aligned.

Still need help with this topic?

Ask Yourself:
  1. Did I open the Logbook widget from the dashboard?
  2. Am I using the Logbook for property-wide notes, not private messages?
  3. Do I understand that logs can’t be edited or deleted once created?
Support May Ask You:
  1. Which log entry are you looking at (date, author)?
  2. Were you trying to edit or delete a log entry?
  3. Did you confirm whether the log displays for other team members?
  4. Did you use the Logbook instead of Internal Messaging for your communication?
