Panic Button Overview (MOP)


The Panic Button feature in MOP provides a fast and effective way for staff to request immediate assistance during safety or security incidents. When activated, the Panic Button:
  1. Sends real-time alerts to designated users
  2. Triggers video and audio recording
  3. Notifies staff across the property
This ensures a rapid response and helps maintain a safe working environment.

Overview of Functionality

Panic Button Access - Available to all users:
  1. Housekeeping
  2. Maintenance
  3. Front Desk
  4. Mobile and Desktop users

Triggering a Panic Alert

  1. Click or tap the Panic Button (Located on any screen in the right corner)
  2. You will be redirected to the Recording Page
  3. Begin video and audio recording
Alert
On first use, your browser will request permission to access your camera and microphone

Recording Controls

  1. Recording starts once initiated
  2. Click “Stop Recording” to end the session

Alert Notifications

When a Panic Alert is triggered:
  1. All logged-in users receive an in-app notification
  2. Notification includes:
    1. User’s name
    2. Last known location (if available)

External Notifications

Users with proper setup will receive:
  1. Phone calls
  2. Text messages (SMS)
  3. Email notifications
A valid phone number and email address must be configured in the user profile

Responding to a Panic Alert

When receiving an alert, users can:
  1. Click Acknowledge → If responding to the alert
  2. Click Dismiss → If another team member is handling it

Panic Alert Logs

  1. Access all alerts and recordings via - Panic Alert Video Log
Notes
  1. Only users configured by the Site Admin will receive external notifications
  2. Ensure all users have:
    1. Valid phone numbers
    2. Valid email addresses
  3. Panic Alerts are intended for urgent safety situations only
  4. Browser permissions are required for recording functionality
