Preventative maintenance (PM) is a proactive strategy that prevents equipment, machinery, systems, or facilities from unexpected failures. It includes planned, routine tasks, inspections, and repairs to detect and resolve issues early, ensuring asset reliability, efficiency, and longevity, while reducing reactive repairs.
A preventative maintenance task can be scheduled in two ways: based on the number of days (days counter) or the number of times the room is rented (days rented). Both refer to tasks that need to be addressed in the near future, but they have slightly different focuses:
- "Days Counter" suggests tasks that need to be completed in the coming days, regardless of whether they are related to renting or other activities.
- "Days Rented" specifically implies tasks associated with renting or occupancy, such as preparing rooms for incoming guests, checking out guests, or handling reservations related to rent days.
The choice between the two depends on whether you want to emphasize a broader range of tasks or specifically those related to renting.
