Share Room and Tax Charges Between Folios (Cloud) 🎥
When multiple guests share a room but prefer to split costs, VM Cloud allows you to distribute charges across up to four folios within the same reservation. By setting each folio to Room & Tax and choosing Share as the posting type, the system automatically divides not only the room and tax charges but also any add-ons linked to the reservation. Each guest receives their share on a separate folio, while the reservation remains fully connected.
This setup can be done either directly from the reservation or through the Cashiering screen.
Path: Front Office > Reservations > Search > Open the Reservation > Select Guest Account.
Instructions
1. Open the reservation and click Guest Account on the right-hand panel.
2. In Folio A, set the Type to Room & Tax. Repeat this step for each additional folio (up to four in total) that should share charges.
3. For every folio included, open the Posting drop-down and select Share. VM Cloud will then split the room, tax, and add-ons evenly across all selected folios.
