Displaying a secondary currency on guest folios can be helpful for international guests, but it also requires careful setup. Since exchange rates are entered manually, understanding how this feature works is essential to ensure totals remain accurate and avoid discrepancies.
Path: Management > Property Settings > Forms > Guest Folios
Instructions
1. Access the Currency Settings. Navigate to the Guest Folios section in Property Settings.
2. Enter the Currency Code. In the Code field, enter the three-letter currency code (for example: EUR, GBP, CAD)
This defines the additional currency that will appear on the folio.
3. Enter the Conversion Rate. In the Multiplier field, enter the conversion rate used to calculate the secondary currency total.
Example: If 1 USD = 0.90 EUR → enter 0.90
4. Click Save to apply the changes.
5. The converted total will now appear on guest folios.
Important Notes
- Manual Conversion Rate: The conversion rate does not update automatically. It must be reviewed and updated regularly to ensure accuracy.
- Display Purpose Only: The converted total is for informational purposes and does not affect the actual folio balance or payments.
- Accuracy Responsibility: Because rates are manually maintained, outdated values may result in incorrect totals being shown to guests.
Testing Recommended: After updating the rate, generate a sample folio to confirm the converted total appears correctly.
