Add Package to Reservation (Cloud)

Add Package to Reservation (Cloud)

Packages in VM Cloud bundle room rates with additional services, such as breakfast, parking, or activity fees, making it easy to sell combined offers in a single reservation. This article explains how to add a package to an individual reservation so the correct charges and inclusions are applied automatically.
Path: Front Office > Reservations > Add Res/Open a Reservation

Instructions

1. Scroll down to the "Add-Ons" section, and click on "Multiple".

2. Choose the date the package should apply.
3. Select the desired package from the list.
4. Click Add New to attach it to the reservation.
Notes
If the package should apply to multiple nights, you must add it separately for each night.

5. After adding, the package will appear in the list window.

6. Click on "Details" in the "Rate Information" section.

Warning
Multi-night packages post all charges on the first night of the reservation, even though room revenue may appear distributed across nights in reports.

Understanding How Packages Post on Multi-Night Reservations

When a multi-night package is added to a reservation, the system posts the entire package on the first night of the stay.
- On the folio, the room charge appears as a single posting for the total amount of all nights in the package.
- In system reports and backend accounting, the room revenue is distributed across each night of the stay.
- Non-room items included in the package (such as breakfast, parking, or other amenities) are not distributed across nights. They remain fully posted on the first night, exactly as configured in the package.
Because of this behavior, if a multi-night package contains only one non-room item (for example, one breakfast), only that single item will be posted—even if the stay spans multiple nights.
To capture the correct revenue for multi-night amenities, the package must include one item line for each night of the package (for example, two breakfast items in a 2-night package). All items will still post on the first night, but the total revenue will be correct.
If you need items to appear on each night individually, create a 1-night package and apply it separately to each night of the reservation.

Ask Yourself:
- Did I open the correct reservation and access the Add-Ons Information?

- Did I verify the Folio to ensure charges display correctly?

Support May Ask You:
- Which reservation are you adding the package to (guest name, confirmation #)?
- Which package did you try to apply?
- Did you review the Folio to confirm the package charges?
