FAQ - MOP / General

Do I need to download the MOP app from the App Store or Google Play to use it?
No. MOP (Mobile Operating Platform) is a web application, not a downloadable mobile app.
When we refer to “the MOP app,” we mean the MOP web application, which runs directly in your internet browser. There’s no need to install anything on your device. Simply open Google Chrome and go to your property’s MOP login page to sign in.
Because it’s web-based, MOP works on any device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) that has an internet connection and access to Chrome.
Idea
For quick access, you can bookmark the MOP login page or add it to your home screen on your phone.
I searched for MOP in the App Store and Google Play but couldn’t find it. How do I download it?
You won’t find MOP in the App Store or Google Play because it’s not a native app. MOP is a web-based application that opens in your browser.
To use it, open Google Chrome and navigate to your property’s MOP web address. Once there, sign in with your username and password—no download or installation required.
IdeaIf you want MOP to feel more like a mobile app, you can add a shortcut to your home screen, which will open MOP in Chrome with one tap.
Since MOP isn’t a downloadable app, how can I quickly open it on my phone?
You can add MOP to your home screen to make it open just like an app icon—but it will still launch in Google Chrome.
Here’s how:
- On Android (Chrome): Tap the Menu (⋮) icon, then select Add to Home Screen.
- On iPhone (using Chrome): Tap the Share icon (▢ with an arrow), then select Add to Home Screen.
Once added, simply tap the MOP icon on your screen to open the web application instantly in Chrome.
Which specific mobile device models would you recommend?

Any WiFi-compatible device is suitable. We suggest obtaining devices with screen sizes ranging from 3.8" to 5.0" for room attendants and maintenance staff, while opting for a 7" tablet for your executive housekeeper.
Prepaid phones are a good option to consider, though there may be purchase limits depending on the vendor—often only 2 devices per customer per day.

Alert
We support the last two releases of Chrome or any Chromium-based browser. To ensure full compatibility, security, and performance, devices used to run MOP should support the latest versions of modern browsers such as Chrome, Edge, or Safari.
Do I need to purchase a service plan for my devices?
No, it is not necessary to purchase a cellular plan for your devices. MOP will utilize your hotel's WiFi network.
Can my staff use their personal cell phones with MOP?
While staff can use their personal devices, it's important to carefully consider potential risks. If a personal device is damaged during work-related activities, staff may have expectations regarding compensation or replacement. We recommend reviewing your property’s policy on device usage to make an informed decision.
Is there an IP Security restricting the access to MOP?
MOP does not have IP security. Mobile users, such as housekeeping and maintenance staff, typically access MOP to start and end tasks, submit work orders, or report lost and found items, which limits their interactions with the system. Once a task is completed, they can no longer interact with it. Additionally, since mobile devices connect through various Wi-Fi networks, implementing strict IP-based security is not feasible.
Can I customize my Room PM (Preventative Maintenance) List?
Certainly! Just send an email to the Client Experience team with the details of the information you want to add or remove, and we'll handle the rest.
