Return/Clear a Lost & Found (MOP)
The final step in managing Lost & Found items is ensuring they are either returned to their rightful owner or cleared from storage once they reach expiration. Completing this process properly helps:

Keep storage areas organized
- Maintain accurate records
- Ensure accountability and closure of items
This article walks through how to return or clear items from both the Active and Expired tabs.
Active Items Path: Lost & Found > Item Log > Active
Expired Items Path: Lost & Found > Item Log > Expired
From the Active Tab
Items in the Active tab have not yet reached their expiration date.
1. Open Item - Click the clipboard icon next to the item
2. Update Status - Select whether the item was:

Returned to the guest, or
- Removed from storage
3. Add Final Notes - Enter relevant details such as:

Shipping tracking number
- Return address
- Additional notes about the resolution
4. Save - Click Save to complete the process
From the Expired Tab
The Expired tab displays items that have reached their expiration date, whether or not they have already been resolved.
1. Open Item - Click the eyeball icon next to the item
2. Update Status - Select whether the item was:

Returned to the guest, or
- Removed from storage
3. Add Final Notes - Enter relevant details such as:

Shipping tracking number
- Return address
- Additional notes
4. Save - Click Save to finalize the update
