Clear Cache and Cookies to Resolve Browser Issues (MOP 2.0)

Browsers store cached files and cookies to load websites faster, but over time this stored data can cause problems such as pages not loading correctly, formatting issues, or outdated information appearing in MOP. Clearing cache and cookies often resolves these issues quickly.

Why Clearing Cache and Cookies Helps

When you use a web browser, it saves information from websites in two main ways:
  1. Cache
Stores parts of web pages (such as images) so they load faster on future visits.
  1. Cookies
Save browsing data like login sessions and site preferences.
Over time, outdated or corrupted cache and cookies can cause:
  1. Pages not loading correctly
  2. Display or formatting issues
  3. Old data appearing after updates
  4. Login or session problems

Clear Cache and Cookies in Google Chrome (Computer)

  1. Open Google Chrome.
  2. In the top-right corner, click More (three dots).
  3. Select Delete browsing data.
  4. Choose a Time range (for example, Last hour or All time).
  5. Select the types of data you want to remove (Cache and Cookies).
  6. Click Delete data.

Important Notes for Chrome Users

Notes
  • If you delete cookies while signed into Chrome, Chrome will refresh Google cookies to keep the browser functioning normally.

  • To fully delete Google cookies, sign out of Chrome first, then clear data.

Info
  1. To sign out of your Google Account on all websites, sign out of Chrome.
  2. In the address bar, you can type Delete browsing data and select the action shortcut to open the menu faster.
  3. Chrome also allows you to delete cookies for a specific site if only one site is affected.

Other Browsers

If you are using a different browser:
Safari
Firefox
Edge
Other mobile or desktop browsers
Refer to the browser’s official support site for instructions on clearing cache and cookies.

What Happens After You Clear Cache and Cookies

After clearing cache and cookies:
  1. You may be signed out of websites and need to sign in again
  2. Some site settings or preferences may reset
  3. Pages may load more slowly the first time, as images and data reload
If Chrome sync is enabled, your Google Account remains signed in while clearing data across devices.
