Set Up Common Areas for Maintenance Work Orders (Cloud) 🎥

Common areas in your property—such as lobbies, hallways, fitness centers, and shared facilities—may require maintenance just like individual guest rooms. In Visual Matrix Cloud, you can configure maintenance work order items specifically for common areas so that recurring or issue-based tasks can be documented, assigned, and tracked efficiently. This setup allows maintenance teams to plan, assign, and complete tasks related to common area equipment or infrastructure with the same workflow used for room-based maintenance.
Path: Maintenance > Set Up > Maintenance

Instructions

1. In the last empty row of the list, enter a Code (up to 6 characters) and a Description for the new common area location.



2. Click the Save icon (floppy disk) at the end of the row. Saving creates the common area location and adds a new empty row so you can create another one.


Notes
Use the X (delete) icon at the end of the row to remove a common area location.
A common area cannot be deleted if it has already been assigned and used in maintenance work orders.
