Do Not Disturb (DND) Monitoring Feature (MOP 2.0)

Do Not Disturb (DND) Monitoring Feature (MOP 2.0)

The new Do Not Disturb (DND) Monitoring Feature helps properties track guest rooms that show consecutive days of “Do Not Disturb” or service refusal. When a room reaches your configured threshold, MOP creates a DND Alert task, ensuring timely follow-up for guest well-being. This article explains how DND tracking works, how to configure your threshold, how alerts are generated, and how staff complete and document the required follow-up.

How DND Alerts Work

MOP automatically monitors rooms where staff cannot enter due to a Do Not Disturb sign or a guest’s No Service Required status.
When a room reaches your configured number of consecutive days without staff entry, MOP will:
  • Generate a DND Alert task
  • Flag the room for review
  • Prompt appropriate safety and well-being checks
  • Document actions taken for auditing and compliance

Configure Your DND Threshold

Path: DND Configuration → Consecutive Days Threshold
You can customize the number of consecutive DND days before MOP triggers an alert.
Steps to Edit the Threshold
  1. Go to DND Configuration in the left navigation menu.
  2. Locate the Consecutive Days Threshold section.
  3. Select Edit.
  4. Enter the new number of days (e.g., 2, 3, 6).
  5. Click Save.

Info
A configuration activity log shows who changed the value, the previous and new settings, and timestamp details.

DND Alert – How Alerts Appear to Staff

Once a room hits the threshold, the system creates a DND Alert task—visible in:
  • Alerts (safety alerts section)
  • My Tasks (for the assigned staff member)
  • All Tasks / Home (supervisor overview)
What the DND Alert Includes
Each alert displays:
  • Room number
  • Duty: DND Alert
  • Alert status
  • Report time
  • Pre-filled system note explaining the consecutive DND days
  • User selection field (Assigned To)
  • Buttons to Assign or Complete

Assigning a DND Alert

  1. Open the DND Alert.
  2. Under Assigned To, select a staff member.
  3. Click Assign.
The alert now moves to the selected user’s task list.

Completing a DND Alert

The assigned staff member must perform the appropriate guest well-being check, then document their actions.
Steps to Complete
  1. Open the alert from My Tasks.
  2. Enter the Action Taken (required). Examples:
    • Spoke with the guest
    • Guest extended stay
    • The guest requested service refusal
    • Security welfare check completed
  3. Optional:
    • Upload photos if needed
    • Reset the DND Alert Counter if follow-up is complete
  4. Click Save.
The alert will show as Verified when completed.
