Configure EasyBoost for Room Upgrades and Add-Ons (Cloud)

EasyBoost allows your property to offer room upgrades and additional services during booking and check-in. To ensure these options display correctly and post accurately, several components must be configured together.
This setup connects room tiers, pricing, add-ons, and property settings so the EasyBoost prompt can present the right offers at the right time.
Path: Management > Rates > EasyBoost

Understanding the Setup Flow

Before configuring EasyBoost, it’s important to understand how each component works together.
  1. Configuration settings activate EasyBoost and control when prompts appear
  2. Room tiers define upgrade paths between room types
  3. Pricing determines the cost of each upgrade
  4. Add-ons provide additional services for purchase
  5. Accounting mapping ensures charges post correctly
Notes
All components must be configured for EasyBoost to function properly.

Step 1: Enable EasyBoost Configuration

Enable Configuration to activate EasyBoost. This is the master switch that turns on upsell prompts.

Step 2: Define When EasyBoost Appears in BookRes

Decide when EasyBoost will display during the reservation process in BookRes. You can also choose whether to include Add-Ons.
Options include:
  1. Before Guest Info (after selecting Continue on the first page).
  2. After Guest Info (after selecting Confirm on the second page).
  3. Never (only appears when modifying a reservation or at check-in).
Notes
Upsell prompts are most effective in BookRes. In AddRes, prompts appear later, typically during modification or check-in.

Step 3: Configure Additional Prompt Triggers

Choose when EasyBoost should also appear outside of the initial booking flow.
Options include:
  1. At Check-In.
  2. When the arrival date changes (does not include departure date changes).
You can also decide whether Add-Ons should be included in these prompts.

Step 4: Configure Room Tiers

Room tiers define which upgrades are available to guests.
  1. Organize room types into up to two tiers.
  2. Define upgrade paths between room types.
Example:
  1. King Room → King Room with Kitchen (Tier 1)
  2. King Room with Kitchen → King Room with Kitchen + Balcony + Lake View (Tier 2)
Alert
Room types must be properly assigned to tiers for upgrades to appear.

Step 5: Set Upgrade Pricing

Upgrade pricing determines how much a guest pays to move between room tiers.
  1. Define pricing differences for each tier.
  2. EasyBoost will compare configured pricing with the rate plan.
Info
If the rate plan difference is lower than the EasyBoost minimum, the EasyBoost price is used. If the rate plan difference is higher, the higher price is charged.
Alert
When a Company or City Ledger account uses an override rate, upsell charges do not affect the guest’s rate. The override rate always takes precedence.

Step 6: Configure Folio Posting for Upgrades

Decide how upgrade charges are posted.
  1. Choose whether upgrade charges post to the main folio or an incidental folio.
  2. Select the accounting code (must already exist in the Add-Ons list).
Notes
If an incidental folio is not already created, the full room charge (including upgrade) will post to Folio A as a single combined rate. In this case, the upsell charge will not appear separately.

Step 7: Review and Configure Add-Ons

Review your Add-Ons to ensure they are available for EasyBoost.
  1. This section mirrors Add-Ons in Property Settings.
  2. Changes made here will update the main Add-Ons configuration.
  3. You can assign Add-Ons to post to an incidental folio.
Notes
If an incidental folio does not exist, it will be created automatically for Add-On postings.

Step 8: Save Your Configuration

Click the green floppy disk icon at the top of the page to save your EasyBoost setup.

Idea
Test the Setup
After completing configuration, test the setup to confirm everything is working correctly.
  1. Create a test reservation.
  2. Trigger the EasyBoost prompt.
  3. Select an upgrade and add-on.
Verify the following:
  1. Upgrade options display correctly.
  2. Pricing is accurate.
  3. Add-ons are available.
  4. Charges post correctly to the folio.

Common Setup Issues

If EasyBoost is not working as expected, review the following:
  1. Room tiers are not assigned to all room types.
  2. Upgrade pricing is missing or incomplete.
  3. Add-ons are not created or inactive.
  4. EasyBoost is not enabled in Property Settings.
  5. Accounting mapping is incomplete.
  6. Setup has not been tested after configuration.

What Success Looks Like

A properly configured EasyBoost setup will:
  1. Display upgrade options consistently.
  2. Show accurate pricing for all upgrades.
  3. Offer relevant add-ons to guests.
  4. Post all charges correctly to the folio.
  5. Support staff in increasing upsell revenue.
