Upselling is most effective when it happens at the right moment. With EasyBoost, you can prompt guests with upgrade and add-on options during reservation creation in BookRes or later at check-in. This helps your team capture more revenue without slowing down the front desk.
Setting up EasyBoost only takes a few steps. Once configured, staff can consistently offer room upgrades, amenities, and special packages at the most impactful points in the guest journey—leading to smoother operations and more personalized stays.
Path: Management > Rates > EasyBoost
1. Enable Configuration to activate EasyBoost. This is the master switch that turns on upsell prompts.
2. Decide when EasyBoost will display the upgrade prompt during the reservation process in BookRes. You can also choose whether to include Add-Ons. Options:
- Before Guest Info (after Continue on page 1)
- After Guest Info (after Confirm on page 2)
- Never (only shows if reservation is modified or at check-in).
Upsell prompts work best in BookRes. In AddRes, prompts appear later (at modification or check-in).
3. Choose if the upsell window should also appear at:
- Check-In
- When the arrival date changes (does not include departure).
You can also decide whether Add-Ons appear in these prompts.
4. Organize your room types into up to two tiers. This defines which upgrades are available from one room type to another.
Example:
- King Room → King Room with Kitchen (Tier 1)
- King Room with Kitchen → King Room with Kitchen + Balcony + Lake View (Tier 2).
5. Set the price differences for each upgrade tier.
- If your rate plan’s difference is lower than the EasyBoost minimum, the EasyBoost price will apply.
- If the rate plan’s difference is higher, the higher price is charged.
When a Company or City Ledger account uses an override rate, upsell charges will not affect the guest’s rate. The override rate always takes precedence.
6. Decide if the upgrade charge should post to an incidental folio instead of the main folio. Select the accounting code to use (must already exist in the Add-Ons list).
An incidental folio is not created automatically. If a Folio B does not already exist, the room charge will post entirely to Folio A as a single rate that includes the upgrade. In this case, the upsell charge will not appear separately on Folio A.
7. Review your Add-Ons list. This section mirrors the Add-Ons setup in Property Settings—changes here update there as well. You can also mark an Add-On to post to an incidental folio.
If the incidental folio does not exist, it will be automatically created.
8. Click the green floppy disk icon at the top of the page to save your EasyBoost setup.
