Setup Square Unit Measure (MOP 2.0)

Setup Square Unit Measure (MOP 2.0)

This article explains how to enable and configure the Square Foot Unit Measurement feature in MOP 2.0. This feature helps properties track the cumulative square footage assigned to room attendants and supports compliance with local labor regulations. Square foot measurements can be reviewed through reports at both the individual team member level and as an aggregate across all staff.

Before You Begin

The Square Foot Unit Measurement feature must be enabled by Visual Matrix. To activate this feature, contact Client Experience for assistance.

Step 1: Configure Measurement Settings

1. Click on Setup.

2. Select the unit of measurement: square feet or square meter.

3. Enter the maximum square unit limit a Room Attendant is legally permitted to clean per day.
Info
This limit helps ensure workloads remain within regulatory or brand guidelines.

4. Click Save.

Step 2: Assign Square Footage to Rooms and Areas

1. For each guest room or property area, enter the square footage or square meters.
2. If a room qualifies as a Special Room, select the Special Room checkbox.
3. Click Save.
Warning
The criteria for defining a Special Room vary by state or county regulations.
Common examples include:
  1. Rooms with extra beds
  2. Rooms located across multiple buildings
  3. Rooms spanning more than two floors
Each qualifying condition may reduce the maximum square footage that can be assigned to a Room Attendant.

Viewing Square Foot Unit Reports

Once configured, square foot measurements can be reviewed using reports that show:
  1. Assigned square footage by individual team member
  2. Total square footage assigned across all team members
These reports support workload planning, compliance monitoring, and operational analysis.
