Understanding the Report
Use this section to understand how the Charge Verification List displays each in-house reservation, including balances, payment methods, and authorization amounts. These details help you quickly confirm whether the payment information on file is appropriate for the guest’s current folio activity.
Guest & Stay Details
- Room: Current room number.
- Guest Name: Primary guest registered to the room.
- Arrive: Arrival date for the stay.
- Depart: Scheduled departure date.
Authorization & Balance Review
- Auth Amt: Dollar amount authorized on the guest’s credit card or payment method.
- Balance: Current folio balance based on posted charges and payments. If Balance exceeds Auth Amt, additional authorization may be needed. If the guest is Direct Bill / City Ledger, the balance may not require authorization.
- MOP: Method of payment assigned to the folio (e.g., Cash, Credit Card, C/L). Corporate or C/L methods often do not require authorization.
Additional Reservation Details
- Pkg: Package code applied to the reservation, if applicable.
- Group: Group block name, if assigned.

Tips & Use Cases

- Confirm that corporate or direct-billed reservations have appropriate MOP settings.
- Check for guests with zero authorization who still have outstanding balances.
- Review group blocks to ensure group billing rules are applied correctly.
- Assist night audit by identifying authorization discrepancies before closing the day.
