The Room Assign page is the central workspace for managing daily housekeeping assignments in Visual Matrix Cloud. It brings together room status, cleaning requirements, assignment counts, and auto-assignment controls in a single view. Understanding what each section of this page represents helps ensure rooms are distributed accurately and prevents confusion when assigning rooms manually or using auto-assignment tools. This article explains the information and indicators displayed on the Room Assign page, without walking through assignment steps.
Overview
The Room Assign page provides a real-time snapshot of rooms requiring service, housekeepers configured in the system, and assignment-related controls for the selected date.
Selected Room Attendant
The name shown at the top of the page indicates which room attendant is currently selected. Any rooms highlighted in green are assigned to this attendant.
Total Rooms & Rooms Left to Assign
These counters show:
- The total number of rooms requiring housekeeping service for the selected date.
- How many of those rooms have not yet been assigned.
This provides a quick way to confirm whether all required rooms have been distributed.
Page Controls
- Refresh reloads the most current room and assignment data.
- Auto Assign Maid assigns rooms based on auto-assignment settings.
- Unassign Maid removes assigned rooms from the selected attendant.
Housekeeper List
This list displays all housekeepers set up in the system. The list does not reflect scheduling or availability for the selected day.
Room Count
The number shown next to each room attendant reflects how many rooms were assigned during the last assignment and directly determines how many rooms to auto-assign. This value is specific to auto-assignment behavior.
Auto-Assignment Filters
Filters such as Section, Room Type, Range, and Sequence control which rooms are selected during auto-assignment. These filters determine eligibility and order when auto-assigning rooms but do not affect manual room selection.
Assignment Summary Columns
The Change, Make, No Serv, and Total columns provide a running summary of the types of rooms assigned to each room attendant. These totals update as assignments are added or removed.
Rooms Requiring Service
The room grid displays all dirty rooms that require housekeeping service for the selected date, along with the type of cleaning needed:
- C (Change): Full clean.
- M (Make): Refresh service.
- N (No Service): applicable only to weekly or monthly rate reservations.
These indicators help identify workload type and cleaning expectations at a glance.
Room Assignment Status (Color Indicators)
Room colors show assignment status in real time:
- Green: Assigned to the selected room attendant.
- Red: Assigned to a different room attendant.
- Yellow/Grey: Available for assignment.
These indicators help prevent duplicate assignments.
Important Behavior to Know
- Manual assignment does not rely on room count values shown next to room attendants.
- Auto-assignment uses the room count and selected filters to determine distribution.
- Cleaning schedules advance even if a room is not serviced on a given day; skipped service does not pause the cleaning sequence.
